REVIEW : The Faceshop's "Face it Artist Touch Lipstick" Creamy Matte Lipsticks

Guys, I felt so bad to not post anything recently, really. Not only the practice of Knock-Knock Indonesia (an Indonesian Night presented by Indonesian students in Busan, if you're curious ;) I'm one of the choir and the 'kecak' dancer...) and it took most of my evenings!! Grahh even if I have some time i filled it with watching Running Man while sewing my homework -.- two main reasons of not blogging : too busy for practice, and too broke to buy new stuffs. Yeap, if you're not around for long you might not know that this blog is filled with mostly reviews, and I done none for I don't know, WEEKS, because I don't have new stuffs to talk about! Now I hope I could totally catch up my schedule. Right now I'm supplying myself with vitamin C like candies because it's freakin H-3!!!!!!

ehem.

Today review is The Faceshop's "Face it Artist Touch Lipstick" Creamy Matte lipsticks that I got the other day, both retail for KRW 10.900. I'm not sure on how many shades available because it's not stated on the site.

The shades I own were BR802 and PP402 사랑중 버건디 (In love Burgundy?), the burgundy color is actually a part of new The Faceshop's 2013 Fall Collection, along with another lipstick and a eyeshadow palette. I was recommended by my friend, Jess, to pick these up!

So the packaging is really simple, similar to the other Faceshop's "Lesson" line. The packaging is black with subtle shimmers. A little bulky, but I love them! So as you can see on the pictures above, I got two colors, one nude colored, one bright colored.

The description on the box wrote :

"Creamy texture enhanced with Light Powder offers vivid and long-wearing color that glides effortlessly with a velvet-smooth finish."

I like it when lipsticks have this writings on it's bullet, because it makes the lipstick looks worth more than it is :p And I realized that the bullet is curved to fit my lips' curve. Though I'm sure it gonna washes out over time.

The texture of the lipstick is very creamy, if you don't see it already from the name, it almost made me forgot that it's actually a matte lipstick! You know, because matte lipstick usually have drier texture and it doesn't happened with this product!

LEFT without flash RIGHT with flash

The pigmentations of these products are amazing! You see on my wrist swatch, the first two from the left is one layer and the rests are two layers. Both swatches didn't have big difference, right? For the color, I love the nude color so much!! And for the burgundy, I even thought that I picked up the wrong color because it turned out so red! Like, chili red with a hint of maroon. I really hoped that the burgundy color comes out a little bit darker :(

The products stated that it's a long-lasting product. Matte lipsticks usually do last longer than glossy lipstick. I realized that these product lasts for about 2-3 hours until it worn out. The burgundy color definitely lasts longer than the nude one! Which is suck because I usually don't put much attention when I'm using nudes, so it was all worn out until I reapplied.

Even though it's creamy when applied, after some times the creaminess started to disappear and could really dry up your lips. Especially recently the weather has been very dry, it's really uncomfortable for my lips it I didn't put lip balm before hand.

Overall, this is an OK product. 3 out of 5. I love the colors, and the texture is really nice. The pigmentation is great and the lasting power is an ok too, I guess. I actually got these for half price in a 1+1 event, so I think I got my money worth. What I love the most (and probably most of you won't) is the packaging! It's so simple, all black, just, LOVE. Haha

Oh yeah, using lipbalm before applying this lipstick is a big must!

my go-to stripes cropped sweater from H&M. LOVE.

It's been a while since I review stuffs I got kinda awkward here. I warn you after this post, my blog will be filled with a lot of Innisfree products lol. I did some shopping recently after I got my allowance, so wait for the reviews guys! <3

So, until the next post!

REVIEW : The Faceshop's "Radiance Concealer" Dual Veil NB21

Hello! Yes, as you can see I'll review The FaceShop 'Face It' Radiance Concealer Dual Veil in NB21. Retail for KRW 10.900, it's a dual concealer, both liquid and stick in one product!

It is one of The Faceshop's No.1 product, as it placed #1 in 'Get it Beauty' Concealer Blind Test - which surprises me a lot because its rival was all high end brands!

This has been my wishlist after I tried my friend(s)' product and promote them even though I haven't actually purchased them. But now I did! Yey! I could now really recommend it and I'll compare it with my The Faceshop's "Oil Cut" Pore Concealer Dual Veil that I purchased earlier.

ingredient list for both liquid and stick concealer

a instruction in case you can't differentiate the concealers (NO.)

I like the fact that I got 2 products in one product? If that make sense. I personally use both concealer type, I like liquid type for my under eye and the stick for my blemishes, so basically this is a perfect product (+ it is super travel friendly!)

The packaging stated :

"The perfect duo of liquid and cream stick concealer for flawless skin"
Moisturizing cream concealer seamlessly camouflages minor imperfections while the stick concealer perfectly covers up more visible pigmentations and dark spots for flawless skin

The 'cover stick' shaped like a lipstick and the liquid concealer shaped like a gloss applicator! I can't stop stressing on how compact and convenient these are!

The liquid concealer's texture is very soft and almost velvety, It really glides on really smooth. The coverage is medium to high, I like to layer it over my Skinfood Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream for more coverage as recently my darkening near my eyes are really really bad. I like to blend them with my fingers, but synthetic brush is also good too.

For the Cover Stick, I like to apply them in my blemishes, acne scars and the side of my nose. Its coverage is definitely higher than the liquid. And I realized that the cover stick doesn't cake up even after some layering. It stays quite a long time, though I see some fading (especially around my nose) after a few good hours, I must say about 5-6 hours?

The Cover Stick is definitely very creamy, and also glides very smoothly. But the stick itself is not easily broken, that's a super good thing because usually something creamy that comes in stick like these doesn't last long, but this I can guarantee, will last long.

Now, I will compare the "Radiance Concealer" Dual Veil with the "Pore Concealer" Dual Veil :

First, I have a very oily skin. I thought, why do I want 'Radiance' for my concealer? So I went with the 'Oil Cut'. Because its purpose is to fight 'oil', the liquid concealer dries quickly and creases so badly on my under eye area. And the 'Stick Cover' also accentuates my dry patches, you know on some blemishes sometimes there're dry skin all over it (urghh..) and these concealer successfully made those shows better on my face.

Guys, you don't need the 'oil cut' formulation for your oily skin, go with the radiance it's so much better! Wiuh. That felt good.

Both of mine are NB21, but after swatching them side by side, it did have a slight difference.

As you see above, the swatches of 'Oil Cut' have more yellow tone on it, while the 'Radiance' have more pink tone in it. Because the liquid concealer could be use for the under eye area, the tones are slightly lighter than the stick!

Overall, go with the radiance, not with the oil cut. That's it.

Thankyou so much for reading!:)

REVIEW : Lovely ME:EX You & Face Blusher (05 Pink Affair & 09 Cinnamon Dream)

Hi! Today I'm going to review products from The Faceshop that I know a lot of you might already see them almost every where, it's Lovely ME:EX You & Face Blusher in 05 Pink Affair and 09 Cinnamon Dream. They cost me KRW 5.900 (OOPS! KRW 4.900!) each and definitely one of the cheapest blusher out there.

The packaging is so simple. Didn't come with a box, just with a plastic seal. It's really small and didn't contain anything outside the product itself. I like the packaging, it doesn't use so much space. Suggested by the numbering, I supposed there are 9 shades or more, but I only found 8 shades on the site.

I think they contain a decent amount of product (4g) despite of their small packaging. I prefer to apply them with my Real Techniques 'contour brush' just because the size fits perfectly! Once again, you do need a blush brush because it doesn't come with one.

"Pink Affair" is a shimmer light baby pink which I would never go for a blush - but since I'm looking for a new blusher and always tend to get the similar color, I said to myself why not try something new? I don't realized that it has shimmer, because it's very subtle and from the plastic packaging it looks like it is matte.

"Cinnamon Dream" is a matte contour shade I supposed. It's the darker color out of 2 contour shade. Even though it looks pretty dark but I never hold my hopes too high for Korean Brand blusher because I never find products that is quite pigmented, especially for contouring.

Both of them has a very nice texture. It's smooth and 'creamy' for a powder product. I can feel how smooth it is when I glide my fingers over it. Both of them has this 'powder' scents, which I love actually (because it remains me of my mom's makeup).

For the pigmentation, GRAH, 'Pink Affair' look almost like nothing at first, I have to really really layer it for the color to actually show up. It's the same with 'Cinnamon Dream' - but I found out that 'Cinnamon Dream' make a very subtle contour, especially for the sides of my nose. I like it for day contour, I don't have to use lighter hands because it is light already.

please note that my face is darker than my arms!

please tell me you can see the difference.

Overall, I will maybe repurchase 'Cinnamon Dream', in case I won't find better bronzer until it is empty. And 'Pink Affair' (or both, really) is definitely designed for someone with fair skin, I have a pretty light skin (MAC NC 25-30) but it doesn't really work, unless you have time to layer it again and again.

Though I really liked the texture and the subtle look it gives, I still use them for my daily look. (I think I wasted my time to apply the blush, really.)

with flash (looks a bit better right?)

Anyway I'm very very busy recently. I felt very restless and the school works just got on my nerves. And everytime I got some time free, instead of actually blogging (believe me, i got a lot of stuff stored!) I just sometime stared blankly at my macbook and did nothing. Or sometime I just catch up on some tv shows. Please Wednesday come faster I want to watch 'Heirs'.  Now please I have to sign off to go to my weekly 'Batak' dance practice.

Thankyou for reading! <3

REVIEW : The Face Shop AQUA CC Starter

Now let's ride on the CC cream's wave and talk about CC cream related product! It's The Face Shop Aqua CC (Color Control) Starter! Don't be fooled with that swatch over the packaging gais, it doesn't have any color! Read my review until the end!

Based on the packaging, Face It Aqua CC Starter is a make-up base exclusively designed to maximise the feeling of CC cream application while refreshen & hydrating the skin

First Impression on the product : Wuuuut a moisturizer plus a primer?? I have to pick them up! But I was quite disappointed when I swatch it, it was so liquidy (talking about aqua, should have take the hint) and doesn't feel like a primer at all, plus no color or anything like the packaging had.

But I actually need a day moisturizer and decided to use them anyway. It contain SPF 30 PA++ which is never a bad thing getting extra SPF for the summer days! Another thing, it felt really cooling on your skin! Glides ok, not sticky at all! Perfect for the hot summer, hot hot summer

Overall, I do enjoy this product! Cooling and moisturizing, even if it said to maximise the cc cream application, I don't feel that this product lengthen any of other product I layer on top. Even so, I heard your face will absorb makeup better if it's cooler, so a good thing I guess? Anyhoo I like them as my day moisturizer! (and the SPF don't have any white cast on flash, no pictures though but just want to let you know!)

REVIEW : The Faceshop "Kiss The Color" Keith Haring Collaboration

Now I'm going to review another 'cushion' type of lip color from 'The Faceshop' which might be one of the best packaging I've ever seen!

The 'Kiss the Color' collection is a collaboration between The Faceshop and Keith Haring, a very popular artist from New York. And I can't stop admiring his designs, which is now I can bring into my purse!

Alongside of the cushion touch lip tint, the collection also have tint stick (lip balms with tints), Cushion eye shadow sticks, Cheek tint (cream stick blusher), and Sense mist (A refreshing mouth spray). You can see now how 'cushion' word is now a must have in all Korean brand's beauty product. Cushion tint, eye shadows, bb cream, cc cream, now let's wait for the blusher to appear!

I have the cushion in 05 Draw Orange (드로우 오렌지) which is a red with orange mixed together. Comparing to the other cushion one that I have before (Aritaum's Wannabe Cushion Tint, read my review here) I like this one more!

Beside the limited color choice on this product (only have 5 colors), which I think it's forgivable since it's a special collection, after all, I don't have much to complain. The color payoff is superb, so pigmented! As we know about lip tint, they tends to dry your lips, this one also makes my lips 'feel' dry, but not at all 'look' dry. If you know what I mean.

To sums things up, Aritaum's Wannabe is more moisturizing, and this one is more pigmented. I'll just get away with some lip balm with this product.

As long as my lips look ok, that's what I need.

Let me just talking about the lasting power here, this product last on my lips like, forever! I know they're tint kinda lipstick, but it have a texture more to a lipstick, so I was really surprised to know it lasts so long! :D And talking about reapplication, nothing goes smoother and easier (smaller tips, more precision) than this one! :D

Oh Oh! This one retail for KRW 8.800, and sadly I haven't saw them on 'The Faceshop' international website :( Let's pray they available internationally soon!

For more details on the collection, I'm posting here some pictures taken from Faceshop Korean websites

So which one do you want to try? :D
