REVIEW : Etude House's Sugar Tint Balm

Still trying to get myself together and post more reviews! Eeeek!

Now, a long delayed review of Etude House's (used to be) new collection "Sugar Tint Balm" :)

       BRAND
Etude House

      PRODUCT NAME
"Sugar Tint Balm"

        type of product
Lip balm / tint

        shade
#8 RD303 blackberry jelly 블랙베리 젤리

      PRICE
KRW 8.000

        sites
Etude House Official Site (ko)

I think this is a very "calmed" EH's product packaging, comparing to how pink and ribbon-y the other collections are, it suits my taste more than the other with typical Etude House design!

You have to turn the cap to open the product, not at all revolutionary, but it's so effective! One problem I always encounter with lip balms is when I tossed it to my bag and the cap get loose and totally ruined the product - I'm pretty sure it happened to every girl. So, a cap with a retractable cap? Oh God yes!

Like most tint / balm product, this product is smooth, not as pigmented as lipstick and pretty much more moisturizing than regular lip product. Though it is said "balm" on the name, I don't think it's enough to make this a replacement to your regular lip balms.

It has a natural shiny finish, like when you top your lips with lip balm, exactly like that. It has a sweet berry scent, not a strong one though and it slightly lingers to the lips.

Now, about the "tint" side, I do think it stains the lips a littleee bit. Even though mine is the darkest shade, you can see the swatch too, it doesn't swatched as dark as the bullet look. And on the lips, it won't stained crazily too, I still need to watch and maintain the shade like on every 2 hours. Probably the lighter color will stay on the lips much less?

This product is great for people with dryer lips, still need lip balm tho! Or for those who feel lipsticks are to restraining and high maintenance, this might be the answer for a little bit color on your face. And just remember with you can make this shade goes on more sheer with lip balms.

I like this product, they're smooth, moisturizing, the pigmentation isn't bad, and the cap, best lip balm packaging design ever! I can compare this to Aritaum's Honey Melting Balm, they have almost the same consistency, though Aritaum's have a larger shade collection so you can probably opt between and look for shade you like. I found that Aritaum's didn't have a darker shade, so that's why I wanted to give this a go!

I prefer to apply the product heavily, but it's totally up to you :) I think either way will look good!

Thankyou so much for reading! Have a great weekend!

REVIEW : 3CE Watergloss in Switch On

Hy!

Back to a 3CE product review today <3 Today I'm bringing you a review for Watergloss, a product relatively new from Stylenanda.

I just got back from watching "No Mercy" - anybody here watches that too? I'll share my thoughts after episode 9 under this review post! :D

       BRAND
3CE

      PRODUCT NAME

lip tint / lip gloss

        shade

Sleek black with a respective shade band in the middle to make sure you didn't grab the wrong one if you have several of these. I love the fact that they make a different packaging for this particular product instead of just going with their lip lacquers packaging design.

Even though it's named by 'gloss' - I'm pretty sure they marketed these to be a lip tint instead. Of course you can use this as a lip gloss on top of other lip product, but this product is pigmented enough to stand on its own.

The whole collection consists of 10 shades, with mostly bright color they have everything from orange-y shades, red, pink, plum to purple-ish shades. The applicator is very similar to their lip lacquers, it's slanted and smaller on the tip - making it easier to make gradient lips color and for precise application since most of the shades are so bright in color.

#Switch On is a cool tone pink shade, definitely it looks less neon-y in real life!

As the name suggest, this product has a very glossy finish. And for the better, it doesn't contain any bit of shimmer / glitter / or anything bling-bling inside, it's just has this very glossy sheen over. Almost like I covered my lips with a layer of water. So glossy and shiny - in a very good way.

Though from the swatch you can see how pigmented this product is, the reality is when applied to the lips you can see your natural lip color peeking through.

Usually most glossy product has this stickiness in exchange to its longevity - this? has 0 stickiness.

I see that the glossy sheen will be gone after a while, but it still stains my lips so it doesn't really disappear completely even after the gloss is gone.

Glossy finish lip product is definitely more forgiving for people that is prone to lip crack. I would recommend this for people with dry lips. Even though you might still need lip balm underneath, this product isn't drying at all.

Also I think it kinda blurs my lips line too. As someone with wrinkly lips, I notice that the gloss overall make my overall lips appearance better.

The glossy finish also have this plumping effect and an overall giving my lips a healthier look!

I love this! I thought the shade would be too neon for me, but apparently the pigmentation isn't as strong as I expect, which is great.

I haven't tried on a top of other product, like for a lip gloss, but I think it'll work great too!

Still, the price is probably the only factor for me to not repurchase this / trying other shade. lol :(

Ok, so that's it for my Watergloss review! Now to my "No Mercy" rant (it may contain spoiler from episode 9 - don't read if you no want spoiler!) :

First, I don't know what to feel any more since Yunho been kicked out from the program. I'm probably started to lose my sh*t after they add a new member to the show AFTER kicking some of the members. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the ones being kicked out so it's definitely not a super heart broken moment for me.

I found the program to be hilarious - plus all the drama surrounding the show (comments on their youtube channel is definitely worth to read.) I will watch the show until the end, yeah I know only 1 episode to go, but I'm not sure that I can support them after the show.

Here's my perfect "No Mercy" debut lineup :

1. Shownu (leader & 맏형 oldest)
2. Jooheon (main rapper)
3. #gun (rapper and he can be the funny guy)
4. Gihyeon (main vocal)
5. Wonho
6. Minhyuk (visual 담당)
7. Yunho (supposedly. Now I.M can be the maknae)

Sorry HyungWon and SeokWon, Hyungwon you can be a model if you like and SeokWon, how about a duo with Yunho? I'm sorry, but really, the more they say how "Hyungwoon" is the "Visual" of the group - the less "visual" he looks for me.

Probably after the last episode and the final debut lineup, "No Mercy" will probably lose some fans and they have to produce a friggin' good music if they want to stand strong in the business. Hip-hop Idol groups are A LOT these days and beating YG's hip-hop groups is definitely a big mountain they have to go over. Especially Winner, since their songs are pretty much played every where in Korea.

So yeah, just wanna say that recently I've been watching No Mercy every week, let's just support the kids and good luck for them and let's see if my lineup does come true or not lol

LIPPIES OF THE WEEK :)

I was tagged (like almost a month ago) but I was probably dozing off somewhere that time so I didn't get to it as quick. So here's my LIPS OF THE WEEK! :) I was tagged by ce Rini from you know, rinicesillia.com <3

After I shot the shade swatches on these lipsticks, I noticed that everything is in the same shade, like literally, the same COLOR. But then it really justifies my taste in shade, my love for these plum shade.

First, the only neutral shade in the stack is Innisfree's CreamyMellow lipstick in #3 Cream Coral. I thought I wouldn't use it a lot during the colder months, because the color came out very warm, but turns out it matches most of my eye makeup look. It ended up in my school bag for months.

For the plums, I got my Etude House Dear My Lips in RD302, still not my favorite texture-wise. I had to mix a hella lot of lipbalm to make my lips less dry with this lipstick, but I can make it work so I keep using it. Next are 2 of my 3CE lip products, it's #604 VAMP lipstick and 3CE Lip Lacquer in #desert flower. The Vamp lipstick is similar with my EH lipstick, but it's just less red, more like brownish-dark-burgundy, and believe me that slight difference do show up.

3CE Lip Lacquer is the one that I pick when I want to make a plum gradation lips, because of the slim tip it's easier to work with. And the last one is my favorite out of the bunch, it's Maybelline's Lip Polish in GLAM6 - It's moisturizing, stays for a long time, and the color is really pretty. It's the brightest plum color out of the bunch, so when I'm feeling less fancy I usually use this :p

PLUM SHADE FTW.

REVIEW : Maybelline's Lip Polish

Hi!!!

It's been a while since I posted something, isn't? :( I just got back to Busan (boohoo) and the classes has started now. I don't have as much classes as the other semesters and I should have more time to write more - BUT (there's always a but, isn't it?) my room is freakin' HOT and I can't work productively in a hot place. Like really, I feel so sluggish and I don't want to do anything! Miraculously today, the aircon (probably) fixed so it's kinda breezy in my room now :") Now I can start doing stuffs!

Ok, as the title suggests today I'm going to review products from Maybelline, it's their "Lip Polish" / known better by "Color Elixir". Supposedly they have a total of 20 shades, but there's only 4 shades available in Indonesia. Sad.

      PRODUCT NAME

        type of product
Lip Tint

These "Lip Polish" has a very similar packaging to Dior's Addict Fluid Stick. Considering they're not from the same mother company, I think it's pretty brave for Maybelline to make their product 'inspired' by Dior products. Anyway, I haven't tried Dior's one, but I absolutely heard great reviews on them - unconsciously make me think positively about this product even before I tried.

p.s read the comment section, a few google search - and it turned out Maybelline came out with the product first before Dior! Oopsies!

I bought the product just the day after Stephanie from Beautybucketeer include these on her monthly favorite, well I can't say no to that,  can I?

There are only 4 shades available in Indonesia (and I'm pretty sure it's not available in Korea, yet), among those 4, 3 shades are pretty much pinkish neutral, and 1 shade is this purple one. Since summer is gonna end, I think this purple shade can amp up the incoming Autumn spirit!

I'm quite baffled when there's some people that bought this knowing that it's a 'lipstick' lipstick, when it actually came with a wand. Maybe the surrealist packaging does look pretty 'real'. There's nothing really special about the wand, not too big, not too small, ok size lah.

Glam 2 is a orange coral shade, the SA said that it's the most popular shade among the 4. Well, this shade is neutral and the pigmentation is rather sheer - it's no wonder to be the most famous because Indonesian loves natural makeup, right?  Despite how much I liked this shade, I regret not picking up the pink one instead. I have lip products in this shade!

Glam 6 looks like a purple plum on the bottle, but when applied, I think it looked more to a pink fuschia infused with a bit of purple tone in it. It has the best pigmentation between the 4, mainly because it's not that neutral of a color - but if you apply just a little bit and spread it around, it will give you a deep pink shade rather than a full on purple color, and yes spreading the color is so easy!

Both shades has glossy finish and it didn't dry out your lips. Sure the glossiness will fade away after a good few hours, or after a big meal - but it did leave some stain behind. Especially Glam 6, the darker one, it leaves a pretty purple-pink stain after all the glossiness disappear. And what I liked the most is the fact that the stain DIDN'T set into my lip lines (AT ALL) - while most of my tints do that.

When I use this allover my lips, I do feel like I'm wearing something. Like there's some layer of something on my lips. It's also great for topping off lipstick and used as lip gloss, not only the gloss do stay longer than regular lip glosses, it also add some more pigmentation to your look!

Staining lips
Not drying - at all
Pretty gloss
Great pigmentation
No scents

Only comes in 4 shades in Indonesia (boooooo)

Overall, I love these!!! Still regretting not picking up the pink one instead - but yey they're nice! Another thing that I liked about these are they're sold pretty much everywhere (?). Just look for a Maybelline counter and you'll find these! (And they do a lot of promotions!). There's a lot of awesome shades available from this line, like the cherry and reds, I really hope they'll widen the shade range later.

I think the Glam 6 (the purple one) is a great way to subtly express the Autumn / Winter trend. Express yourself with your makeup if outfits are out of the option! ;) Doesn't mean that because it's hot it's always summer! I know I'm gonna have a lot of use from this Glam 6 shade this time of season.

That's it you guys! Thankyou so much for reading and I'll talk to you soon! Have a great day ahead! xx

REVIEW : Innisfree's Jelly Tint #04 & #06

Hi!

Today I'm going to review Innisfree's Summer Limited product, the Jelly Tint! I have 2 shades (the other 2 on the pics are Rini's, so look forward for her review!), #04 새콤 자몽 and #06 채리 토마토. This came out about a month or 2 months ago, and I've put a swatch picture on all the shades over on my Instagram months ago.

      BRAND
Innisfree

      PRODUCT NAME
"Jelly Tint"

      type of product
lip tint

        shade
04 새콤 자몽
06 채리 토마토

      PRICE
KRW 6.000

      sites
Innisfree official site

The packaging comes without a box, which is unusual as Innisfree's products usually comes in a box (which is curiously weird, as they were really 'care' about the environment). In replacement, they put a label across the tube and the cap for a security seal, much like they're nail polishes.

Comes in 7 shades, one being a clear gloss - the other shades are pretty much vivid and summer-y.

As you may see from the picture above, not all the colors are the same in pigmentation, some does come off more light and less vivid than the other. I picked shades that are vivid just because I don't want it to be a mere lip gloss.

Anyway, these lip tints are small! Look at my cute ruler gais, they're only 7cm long. And my ruler is definitely wider than the tints.

04 새콤 자몽 or literally translate into "Sour Grapefruit" is a coral pink color. Compared to 06, 04 is less vivid.

06 채리 토마토 or Cherry Tomato shade is red tomato with a little bit of pink.

I tried the water test, and obviously most of the product got rubbed off and it didn't stain much. It looks like they do stain, but on the lips it's really relatively hard to tell because of the lips natural color. It's hard to capture this on the camera, but both have micro glitters that help the shine to look more obvious.

The texture of both are closer to gel-like and quite watery so it's really easy to apply. They have super glossy finish, which is perfect for summer. Both the gloss effect and the shade didn't really survive lunch time, they're easy to re-apply probably because they're also not as pigmented as normal tints. The gloss is not at all sticky, it feels really good and do feels like jelly! After the gloss wears off, I do feel like my lips is also dried out but once I reapplied the problem is solved.

 04 새콤 자몽

06 채리 토마토

Glossy finish (+a little bit of shimmers)
Moisturizing when applied
Lemon scented - perfect for summer
Not sticky
Easy to apply
Light on the lips

Moderate lasting power
Not staining
Could be drying after worn out

Overall, I think they're not a big disappointment or new holy grail, they're ok I guess. More than lip tints, I probably should call them tint-infused-lip-gloss mostly because of their poor pigmentation (some shades are much poorer than the other). I'm pretty sure they're great for lip gloss too. They're shiny, and they're not sticky at all, light-weight, and smells great!

I still think Innisfree's best lip product is the Vivid Tint Rouge (Review HERE). If you do adore the high gloss finish this product offers, maybe you could purchase the 01 or the clear gloss to top off any of your lip product to achieve glossier look for the summer! :)
