June Favorites

Hello! NOW my summer break is officially started, and honestly I don't know what to do really. And really really soon, July is coming and that means 2014's second half is here! I'll introduce you shortly about products that I've been loving this past month!

First, skin care - I've been really enjoying using this Sebum Oil Control Cream from SN-T, honestly I had no idea what brand it is, but I got it from Memebox's Lucky Box. It had this really watery and gel texture, perfect for oily & acne/blemish prone skin, it's light and refreshing, just enough moisture for the summer!

Since June is filled with a lot of projects and I basically stand up all night for almost a week straight (damn you finals!). Not only the darkness in my eyes that got worse and worse (they're quite dark normally. sigh) they're almost like stripped from all this moisture and the lines are getting more and more obvious. I definitely need a emergency safety kit here, so I decided to pick up these eye patch from N.M.F Aquaring Gel Eyefill Patch from Mediheal. I used it twice a week and let it for maximum 40 minutes. The eye patches are like gel, so it really cools down and feels like it reduces the darkness in my eyes.

Once, a Bobbi Brown makeup artist told me that spraying mist before any makeup is helping the makeup to actually stays on, because it cools down the face before 'warming' up the face with all the makeup. Call it a habit, but I always sprayed a face mist before makeup and it's feels really good. This time i'm using Aritaum's Baby Face Mist in Power Hyaluronic Acid - it's light and the most important thing : it's not sticky to the face.

Hanging out under the sun is pretty much what I do recently all the time, really Korea's Summer is almost twice hotter than Indonesia's normal weather! And one thing that my mom frequently remind me to do : always, always put on sunscreen. Yep, here I am with my favorite (maybe all the time favorite really.) the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with SPF50+ PA+++. Not only it's realllllly light on the skin, it's scent is just heavenly and this cooling effect is just, PERFECT!

I personally like the 3CE's Velvet Pore Primer more than the 3CE Pore Silky Balm, but since I got the Velvet Primer almost in the end of the month, i found that I used the Pore Silky Balm more this month - and I gotta be fair, right?

And topping the primer with Innisfree's Long Wear Cushion #23, some concealer & powder, and that's it, that's my face products of the month! (Funny that I'm pretty sure after I wrote all of these, people still gonna ask me what I use everyday, and bla-bla, I mean, do people actually read what I wrote? Or do they just scroll through all the pics? Really?)

If you've been reading my blog long enough, you'll probably know that I'm a bronzer kinda gal and this month my favorite is Tony Moly's Crystal Blusher in #07 Bronzing Brown. I think I've gone through 3 of these, crazy right? It's cheap, the color showed up great in me (it used to be too light for me, but it's not right now!). I hadn't wrote a review for these actually, I don't know why, but I think maybe that time I purchased this the pictures just didn't came out nicely and I probably just skipped it. Anyway, it's a good affordable product!

For a bronzer-kinda-gal to put a blusher to a favorite, that must be a big thing. This Skin Food Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher in Orange Rouge is my best friend this month. Sometime I just felt to washed out with high coverage foundation and this just brought a slight color to my cheek, just to help everything looks 'healthy'

3CE one color shadow in Cinnamon is also my go to eyeshadow color, it's a matte brown with slight grayish tone in it. I'm going to make a separate post on my 3CE's one color eyeshadow collection, so stay tune for that! Usually I use this color to contour my lid and also the outer V, with Innisfree's Shadow Pencil in Soft Milktea in my lid to give a little bit of dimension.

I got many compliments (thank you guys :") from wearing this particular lip color from 3CE Creamy Lip Color #joyce - and I began to reach for it almost all the time really :D

Last, but definitely not least, is my body spray that I've bee abusing everyday, it's "Dream More" from GAP. I got this last May in Japan, when GAP had this Golden Week sale and I think I got this half off the price. Really like the scent, it's floral but still sweet, the perfect Spring scent. I have to change to summer scent now really, probably gonna still use it once in a time.

Thankyou so much for reading! xx

REVIEW : Skin Food's Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher #4 Orange Rose

Yellow! or Pink??!

Lol. Ok. Maybe you've seen this product every where in the beauty community, anyway, it's Skin Food Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher! It's a part of the Milky Rose Spring 2014 Collection. I must say, the whole line's packaging is too cute! It's not sickly cute, but it's just.. cute!

I'm not a big fan of skinfood items, but I know that a lot of global Korean makeup lovers love Skinfood. Honestly I didn't check Skinfood as often as other brands, just because Skinfood never goes on sale, and I don't think their skincare lines are awesome too. I do think their packaging is so cute though! I used to use a lot of Skinfood products, but I guess I was not that impressed.

So, I see a lot of people are loving this blusher. I'm (again) not a big blush-girl. But since my redness has been reduced a lot, I do think sometimes my cheek looks washed out by my foundation coverage.

My first impression of the product is I think the product is smaller than I thought after seeing people's review. And there's a big mirror though I doubt I will use that mirror to apply my blush. I love to apply this blusher with Real Technique's Stippling brush. You can totally apply this with your fingers, but I personally messed up my fingers (and for the hygienic issue too) so brush is my ultimate choice.

The shade that I chose is #4 Orange Rose. Just now I noticed the shade name, it was orange? what? Because in real life the shade is closer to coral pink than orange. I do chose this shade because it has warmer tone comparing to the other stuff.

It has a strong floral scent, but I don't think it's infused with rose oil or something like that so it's ok for people with sensitive skin. I personally love the strong scent!

The texture is creamy, but once blended, it turned into a velvety matte finish! The color is very buildable, so for people like me that doesn't really like the strong blush look, this is perfect! And it's really easy to make the color less visible too, I can just apply more powder when I over-apply and the color will be somewhat blurred out!

Build-able color
Nice floral scent
Velvety finish
Cute packaging
Easy to blend, creamy texture

A mess when applied with fingers

Overall, I love this blush! This is now my everyday blush, I love the fact that it's matte, so it's not over-the-top for daily look. I just lightly dab this everyday, and I feel like the scents made my whole face smells good haha

Thankyou so much for reading!
Do you want to try it too? :D This is a product that I bought after reading a lot of good reviews, it's not at all disappointing!!

Oh! Just to let you know, I made a poll on the side of my blog. It's about blog sale - I'm planning to do one (actually the whole idea of selling my used makeup to others is kinda.. disturbing, so I might be giving out some for free or very very cheap, just because I feel really bad TT_TT). If a lot of people say yes, I'll probably do one in July! :D Thankyou guys!

HOW TO : Burgundy Eyes!

Hello! Autumn is finally (almost) HERE! And to be honest I'm obsessed with burgundy color for this fall! After getting a nice autumn palette from Etude House, I decided to make a look from the palette and here they are!

The look is quite simple and wearable. I've been rocking this look even though it's basically still summer here but who cares anyway! The eyeshadows I use for this tutorial are all from Etude House's Flowering Eyes Palette. But I've made a review + swatches and color description in an individual blog post so click here for more pictures of the palette.

Ok, Let's start! :)

///////////////////////////////////////// THE RESULT ////////////////////////////////////////

I finish the look with a pink lipstick (Skin Food Coffee Creamy Sheer Lipstick in BE001 Apricot Peach). I only contour my cheek and uses no blush! :)

What do you think of the look? Would you wear it? :D

REVIEW : Skinfood - Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream

Yellow! I can't believe my summer break is coming to the end. GOSH. I will back to the 6th semester next week, though I get to make one off day which is on Monday. So my blog schedule could be messed up now since I have other activities, like choir practice and my part-time job to do other than my school stuff. Even though I know I'll be busier (much, much) but I felt like I enjoy blogging more when I was busy!

Anyway, to the review!

Skin Food's Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream is something that I wanted to purchase from a long time ago. I see a lot of beauty blogger that raves about them and I was reminded again by Sasyachi's blog post, reviewing the product. I've put a mental note to pick one for myself. Retail for KRW 8.000 and I bought them in store. One little thing for Skinfood : the store don't do any kind of sale or discounts so it doesn't matter which time of the year the price will be the same!

The one that I picked is #2 Salmon Beige, there's only two shades available. The description label sure is hidden, I like the idea of hiding them under the label, that way the packaging would like less words. The description is "A dark circle concealer cream with salmon oil that effectively conceals dark circles while promoting brighter, softer skin. The highly concentrated formula applies like a second skin and stays put without clumping, no matter how many layers you apply."

It said that it contain 'salmon oil' but worry not it doesn't smell fishy or something similar to that, tho the samples in the stores did smell like one! Maybe it's expired or exposed to the sun a lot, so if yours started to smell like one, that is a one big sign to stop using it and get another one!

(You can see I'm very very impatient, I used them even before I took the picture.. )
The color had a slight salmon-pink color that is great to fix discoloration (dark circle) under the eye. The texture is kinda thick at first, but it has a smooth application, so the key is blend blend and blend!
Not only it covered the darkness under my eye, it also adds some brightness.

Down below is the swatches on my hand and my face (warning, super gross eye close up with dark rings)

(LEFT) before application (RIGHT) after application

Although it clearly stated to be used after foundation, I like to apply them before my foundation. And on some days that I want more coverage, I like to double them up with my 3CE's full cover concealer. I found that doubling these concealer made them last longer, less streaks, and they don't set to the lines as much as if I were the 3CE / other liquid concealer only.

I recommend to apply them with finger, as the heat could really help the blending process. Sometimes I also used beauty blender or sponge if I'm in hurry and it works well too. But I always think that sponges absorbed the product way too many and even if you take the same amount of product, sponges will do less than other beauty tools, such as you finger? brushes, and puffs.

For a concealer, the jar is sure looks big, but if you take a look on the side, it's actually not as deep as you would think. But comparing to the retail price and other brand's concealer, you do get a lot of uses from this.

Overall, I liked this product and would love to recommend them! I usually keep my expectation low so that I don't disappoint much, but I've already expect so much from the product. (from reading other beauty blogger's posts, from the fact that it always sold out in some Skin Food stores) However I've been very satisfied and I could say this product had filled my expectation!

Thankyou so much for reading! See you soon! xx
