REVIEW : Clio's "Kill Cover" Liquid Founwear Cushion

Omg. This is really been a while since my last post, isn't it.

Real life stuff really caught on me, I'm graduating, my family came to Korea, and I'm moving out from Korea. For good. Yes! I'm back in Indonesia - for life - maybe. And thus begin my life of unemployment. If only blogging brings real money lol.

Anyway, I've tried a ton of new beauty items that I would totally share the experience here ASAP. Please just wait for a while until I unpack everything, right now I'm stuck to my travel stuffs - including the makeups - because 1. I'm too lazy and 2. still has no idea where to store the stuffs. If I got everything figured I'm sure the posts will be up pretty fast!

Now, let's talk about another cushion face product - it's been a while since I tried a new cushion, from a new brand - Clio! Today I'm reviewing Clio's "Kill Cover" Liquid Founwear Cushion in Ginger

      BRAND
Clio

      PRODUCT NAME
"Kill Cover" Liquid Founwear Cushion

      type of product
Cushion foundation

      shade
4- BO Ginger

      PRICE
KRW 32.000

This cushion came with a pack like in pictures above, I thought "wow their so kind they gave out another foundation!"  but later I knew that it's not a different foundation, but it's the cushion refill!

I love the design, I think this is the only cushion with black exterior! Love it! Outside of the design, the inside isn't differ much from other cushion product from other brand.

One thing is that I find the clap isn't really tight, you have to press real hard to make sure it closes!

Usually, cushion products came with air puff (the one with blue surface?) but this cushion came with a different puff, it's pretty much similar to the air puffs but it's less dense - personally I prefer the regular air puffs because they're more durable.

Since it's a "Kill Cover" line from Clio, compared to other cushion brands I've tried, this product coverage is the best. For a cushion product, the coverage is indeed great, but it's still can't beat high coverage foundation - but for a cushion it's indeed great!

Came in 3 shades, with Ginger is the darkest. I must say they came out pretty fair, but it has a slight darkening through out the day. This shade, Ginger matches my skin tone after I let it oxidize (I'm mac NC 25/30). Ginger has a yellow undertone.

The cushion has a dewy finish, not as dewy as IOPE cushion, but it's definitely not matte.

After a few weeks using this product I find that this cushion works best without face primer underneath. It tend to look less natural, cakey and cracks with primer underneath, and seriously I don't know why that happens. It does perform better without primer.

This cushion compares closely to Innisfree's Long Lasting Cushion - but with a less matte finish, and less cakey looking (when used without primer). I also found that this product has a little creases, as I usually find that all foundations creases around my smile line(?), but this product hasn't crease on me!

This cushion is best for people with normal skin, not too oily not too dry. Because this cushion has a tendency to stick to dry patches, and because this cushion isn't look great layered with primer, people with super oily skin will probably feel it has not enough oil control!

Of course this is great for people that still want dewy finish with good coverage :)

First, I was totally disappointed with this product, but once I get rid of my primer, it became 10 times better. Of course because of the missing primer, this product kinda lacks in the oil control side. But, after figuring stuff out, I pretty much use this daily now. Another reason is because I haven't unpack and the one that I have around is this particular product, but it isn't sooo bad that I have to look for other alternative, like for example, my mom's foundation.

I've been wanting to try something from "Kill Cover" line, outside from their concealers. I think I've made a great decision to try this cushion rather than their foundation.

I think this is a great solution for ones who look for coverage + cushion type product, because as you can see most of cushion products has low to medium coverage as this one is one step better in the coverage side.

The fact that the refill isn't come in a "cushion" type, I'm kinda iffy with the fact that I have to "re-use" the cushion inside :(

Thankyou so much for reading! Don't you worry I'm not quitting blogging, AND a giveaway is coming up soon! :)

HAUL : AUTUMN IS HERE (?)

I can't lie, Autumn is my favorite season, and in Autumn every brand seems to go all out on their new collection. Here are some stuffs that I collected - by collected I mean, I ask my friend to go out and buy these for me when I'm in Indonesia for the summer, so when I'm back to Busan my collection is UPDATED. Oh yeah.

First thing first, ce Rini successfully 'seduced' me onto the new Etude House's Princess Collection. Despite on how huge the gap is between my taste of color and Etude House's sense of color, I'm still losing to the urge on trying new things. Anyway, I got two of their (prepare to throw up) "Princess Happy Ending Cinderella Fairy Glitter Shadow" in #1 and #3, "Princess Happy Ending Belle Purple Rose Lipstick", and "Princess Happy Ending Belle Rose Cheek Blusher". Among those only the lipstick that I haven't tried on, and the try on session went pretty much well! Also not from the Princess collection, one single eyeshadow, "Look at my Eyes Cafe" in BR407 and their new "Stay Up Foundation" in Sand.

From Innisfree, I got two of their new "Cream-mellow Lipstick" line in the shade #3 and #8 - #8 is the one that Pony from Pony's Beauty Diary used in her 'Hyuna RED Cover Makeup' video. Call me not giving up, after a bad relationship with their Smart Foundations, I still wanna try their "Smart Makeup Blender in Long-Lasting", I still have hope for you!

The last one, the last thing that I purchased from this whole Autumn Haul is from Clio, it's their "Kill Cover Pro Artist Stick Concealer in #3 Linen"!

So what do you think? Anything you want me to review, like, ASAP? lol

REVIEW : Clio "Kill Cover" Pro Artist Liquid Concealer

It feels like it's been a while since I made my last review post. Isn't it?
Anyway, today I'm going to review something that I had for a while now, It's Clio "Kill Cover" Pro Artist Liquid Concealer in #3 Linen

      BRAND
Clio

      PRODUCT NAME
"Kill Cover" Pro Artist Liquid Concealer

      type of product
Liquid concealer

      shade
#3 Linen

      PRICE
KRW 16.000

As you can see, the packaging is very sleek, just matte-coated with black cap, so my style. The 'Kill Cover' line from Clio is promoted for people that want full cover, flawless skin. They have liquid foundations (with awesome 6 shades available!), powders, primers and fixers, and of course, various types of concealers to fulfil your specific needs. Browse HERE for the whole "Kill Cover" Collection, it's in Korean tho :"

I was really intrigued with this line since the first time they started to show up, but their price is really up there so I didn't really bothered to even look. But, recently I think Clio has done so good that they have more stores opened, they just opened a big one just in front of my uni - and now they started to do sales for 30-50% off.

The liquid concealer came in shades #4. My initial shade in the foundation supposed to be #4 Ginger, but I picked up #3 instead because I think concealers just look better in lighter shade. But it turns out Linen is not as light as I expected, so.....

Linen has more yellow tone, so it's matches well with my skin tone.

This liquid concealer came with a typical wand applicator, which is one of the reason why I got this concealer type out of all types. Liquid concealers are generally easier to use and to travel, and I can use this to cover everything, from under eye and blemishes. Also, the packaging didn't look and feel cheap at all. The cap has that secure 'click' sound when closed, I think the packaging truly represent on how much it cost (heavy cough)

The product is heavily claimed to be able to cover in one layer, which I can't agree more. One layer is enough to cover everything, like everything. Because the texture is quite heavy, a little bit does go a long way. Maybe because of the thick texture, it's really easy to over apply which could cause extreme creasing and even fading. I also notice that some of my eyeliner smudges to my under eye.

So, what I like to do is rather than applying the concealer directly to my face, I put some on my hand first then I grab on some makeup sponge and dab it all over. That way, the concealer will apply better and won't crease as much (for undereye). On the other hand, it's totally different with my initial reason on why I pick this one up, easy application.

I found that I can only apply this for my under eye area and on some blemishes only.

Why? This concealer's lasting power is so poor around oilier area. When I tried this product, it was quite ok around my under eye (except a few creasing problems and defined line problems - I have a deep eye bags, so it's really easy for concealers to crease) but around my nose - the product seems to be magically disappears, and left chunks of redness showing up. I also tried to put this concealer underneath my foundation, and it even erases the whole foundation layer above it! And I noticed that only happen in the places I put the concealer.

From my experience, the lasting power, especially for people with oily skin, is super, super bad. You can see the redness only in 2 hours after application - even with powder and primer. Even though the finish is skin-like matte, it didn't stay that way the whole day. This product might be better for people with drier skin because it's stays well under my eyes which are drier comparing to the t-zone.

OVERALL, I didn't find this concealer at all super amusing or whatever. The only things that I liked is the packaging and the super high coverage. For the price point, i think 3CE full cover concealer is much better! 2.5 out of 5! But I still have to use this because of my heavy under eye because my sleeping routine have been messed up lately :(

Thankyou for reading! x

REVIEW : Clio's V21 Volume Brightener in #2

Hello! Finally I got the chance to actually sit down and write this review! :D
Weeks ago I visited "Clio" store that is recently opened up near my uni. They put all the sales item near the counter, and I was so interested in this eye brightener (it was one of the sale item)

Turned out I once read this eye brightener over at LadyFoxMakeup blog post, she even compares this with Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat which is super popular! Check out her awesome POST HERE

I think LadyFoxMakeup already clearly reviewed and even swatched both of the shades, not to mention she also compares the swatches from YSL too! I always adored YSL Touche Eclat, but I don't have the budget to splurge on such expensive product. So this is definitely a budget-friendly great solution for people with Touche Eclat on their wishlist!

      PRODUCT NAME
V21 Volume Brightener

      type of product
under eye concealer / brightener

This product is a click-pen type with brush on the other side. Nothing special about the packaging, but the label cover up the whole pen so it's impossible to see how much product you have left. I usually use around 2-3 clicks to cover my under eye + use the rest on the side of my nose.

The coverage is decent! According to LadyFox, the coverage is better than the Touche Eclat. I also think out of all under eye brightener type of product, this product have the best coverage! I say decent because on some days when I have a bad darkening under my eyes, I may need stronger concealer underneath this product.

This product sets dry, so definitely not recommended to people with dry under eyes. I like to bring the concealer down to my cheek, making a triangle with my eyes for a more brightening effect. As my face is relatively oily especially near the T-zone, I have absolutely no problem with its dryness (it's better even for my nose area!)

SWATCHES : before application, applied, blended

This product has easily being my favorite recently because the brightening effect LASTS ALL DAY. Until the end of the day, I can see the product still there! Sometimes it's even hard to tell if an under eye brightener is actually working or not because usually after blended out other products just disappears into the skin.

But it's different with this product, the brightening effect still works until after 8+ hours of application. I super like it because it's not shimmery or glittery, but it just catches the light and make my eyes look less tired!

took this picture (with flash) in the end of the day, you can see my under eye + cheek is slightly brightened! <3

So far, I'm really liking this product. I use this alone when my under eye is not as bad, and it definitely covering well! It also works well on top of other concealer. Though the dry finish could easily makes the product settles into lines under the eye, but I got away with a finishing powder and it sets up fine!

Thankyou for reading!
Have a great day everyone xx

REVIEW : Clio "KILL BLACK" Waterproof Brush Liner

Hello! Today I'm going to review an eyeliner that is a favorite of a lot of people and I definitely a late customer for this. As an eyeliner daily user, this item sure does stay in my wishlist for some time now. Since it come with mini mascara, I finally purchased it!

      BRAND
clio

      PRODUCT NAME
"kill black" waterproof brush liner (+ mascara)

      type of product
brush pen liner

       color
black

      PRICE
krw 18.000

      site info
clio official site (korean)

Brush Pen Liner is actually my favorite eye liner type out of everything. I saved this for the time were my current eyeliner all ran out. But obviously this kinda of eyeliner didn't ran out as fast - I have to wait a minimum of 3 month if I want an eyeliner to ran out. I just can't contain myself to not to try this product.

First, let's talk about the eyeliner and we'll talk a bit about the mascara later on!

Nothing special about the packaging, like all other black brush pen liner. Black pen, with bold name on the center.

The brush tip size is perfect - not too thin and not too thick, and the brush is not flimsy so it's really easy to draw the eye line. Also the color is really, really black. Like SUPER BLACK. This is might be the blackest eyeliner I have in my collection. This doesn't have to be layered to make a super black line, just a single line is enough!

I have not encounter any problem with it lasting power or smudging - everything is goooooood!

Next, a little bit about the O'Tank Volume Mascara (with a little tank there). This mascara is sample size, and Clio have the normal size in their collection.

This mascara have a super curvy wand! It's almost really awkward to coat my eyelashes in because I'm afraid that the corner will poke my eye balls. But nevertheless, the formulation is good. I can't say it's a dry mascara, but it didn't clump and separates my lashes really well (which usually wetter mascara didn't do). Realizing there is 'volume' word in the name, the mascara didn't really give volume, but more to lengthening effect.

LEFT with eyeliner and mascara RIGHT nothing! (Yes I have uneven eyeline T_T)

Overall, I really get why a LOT of people like this eyeliner, I LOVE IT. The price is definitely up there (KRW 18.000) but a lot of Japanese product also cost similar, but the color will not be as black! I'll be definitely be repurchasing this.

And a little tip here for better application, this eyeliner works better when there's a layer of powder underneath. I found that using eyeshadow prior to application makes the eyeliner spread more evenly (no bloachy patch) - face powder is also good for the base!

So that's it for today! Thank you for reading this review and I hope it helps your future purchases!
Definitely left me a comment if you have something to talk to me! :3
